NCR (No Carbon Required) is multiple sheets of specialised paper that are coated with carbon to either the front, the back or both sides. This carbon reacts when writing pressure is applied to the top sheet, allowing the transfer of the image through to the subsequent NCR carbonless sheets below.
NCR Carbonless Sets
Loose Sets as they are also known are the most cost effective way of ordering NCR Printing. Comprising of 2, 3, 4 (and sometimes 5 parts), all of the parts are glued together to make one complete NCR set. These sets can then be Numbered, Perforated or even Hole Punched if required.
NCR Carbonless Pads
NCR Pads usually consist of 50 sets (individual sets) collated together, comprising of 2, 3, 4 (or sometimes 5 parts), and then glued into pad form. The Pads are supplied with a greyboard backing card, and a writing shield that is inserted under a complete set, to stop the transfer of information from “travelling” through multiple sets in one go. The writing shield is a piece of card that is either supplied loose or a Hinged Writing Shield (attached to the pad). The NCR sets these can also be Numbered, Perforated or even Hole Punched if required.
NCR Carbonless Books
NCR Books usually consist of 50 sets (individual sets) collated together, comprising of 2, 3, 4 (or sometimes 5 parts) and then stitched into book form. The main difference from an NCR Carbonless Pad being that the sheets are perforated rather than glued together. The Books are supplied with a greyboard back, and then a writing shield that is inserted under a complete set, to stop the transfer of information from “travelling” through multiple NCR carbonless sets in one go. The writing shield is a piece of card that is either supplied loose or attached to the back of the book). Books are supplied with card front covers that can be printed if required. The NCR sets can also be Numbered, Perforated and Hole Punched if required.
