The acronym NCR comes from National Cash Register, however, these days it refers to "NO Carbon Required" which is a specialist treated paper. When you write on the top NCR sheet, an impression (copy) is automatically made on subsequent NCR sheets below. NCR Paper is the 'modern day' replacement for old fashioned messy blue carbon paper.
